The memory board has split in two: DDR5 spot is still climbing and Q4 PC DRAM contract increases are widening, while DDR4 16Gb has stopped rising and NAND spot is drifting lower on cautious buying.

DDR5 is the line still moving up. DDR5 16Gb 4800/5600 spot averaged $61.10 on 22 Oct, up from $55.23 on 17 Sep and $57.67 on 24 Sep. TrendForce says DDR5 is hard to source.
DDR4 has gone flat at a very high level. DDR4 16Gb 3200 printed $83.117 on 22 Oct, unchanged on the session and below the $86.00 seen on 17 Sep. TrendForce describes trading as quiet, with some suppliers edging quotes down and buyers unwilling to purchase.
NAND spot is where the downside shows. eMMC 4G fell to $12.886 and 8G to $16.643, with buyers in a wait-and-see stance. These are spot quotes; contract prices can behave differently.
Contract pricing still points up. TrendForce's 21 Oct bulletin says PC DRAM supply is set to shrink next year and vendors are widening Q4 contract increases. The same bulletin expects 8-high HBM stacks to become mainstream in 2H27.
HBM4 pricing is a reported ask, not a settled contract. Maeil Business reports Samsung offered 2027 HBM4 at mid-to-high $4 per gigabit, against roughly $1.50/Gb for HBM3E. Treat that as a negotiating quote until a deal is confirmed.

Three headlines that moved a price
- DRAMMarket data
22 Oct spot board: DDR5 16Gb averages $61.10; DDR4 16Gb flat at $83.117
DDR5 is still rising while DDR4 16Gb sits flat — the clearest sign the run is now generation-specific.

TrendForce: vendors widen Q4 PC DRAM contract hikes as 2027 supply contracts
Wider Q4 contract hikes mean the price buyers actually pay is still heading up, whatever spot does.

NAND spot keeps sliding: eMMC 8G drops to $16.643 as buyers turn bearish
NAND spot weakness is the most visible downside on the board right now.
DRAMeXchange Daily Express ↗ - HBMUpside risk
Samsung reportedly quotes 2027 HBM4 at more than 3x HBM3E per gigabit
If it settles near that level, HBM4 would cost about three times HBM3E per gigabit.
