Memory prices — live memory chip price tracker
Every tracked memory contract in one table: DRAM, DDR5, DDR4, GDDR6, HBM, NAND and retail.
Quick answer: as of 2026-08-28, HBM3E 36GB 12-Hi Stack is $299.96 USD / stack, +1.93% over 30 days and +14.00% year over year. Across the 20 contracts tracked on this page the basket is +8.86% over 30 days and +343.55% year over year.
Memory pricing runs on three clocks at once — daily spot surveys for DRAM and NAND, quarterly contract settlements for modules, and multi-quarter allocation deals for HBM. This page puts all of them side by side so you can see where the squeeze starts and how it travels to the shelf. Each level is flagged reported, derived or estimate, links to its source, and exports to CSV or Excel.

SK hynix drops 5% after approving $38B of new memory fabs; Seagate falls 7%
Memory and storage names sold off after SK hynix approved a $38B fab program, with investors reading the spend as the first credible path back to oversupply. New front-end capacity takes 7-9 quarters to produce bits, so the risk lands in 2027-28, not this quarter.

CXMT eyes a second Beijing DRAM plant as China pushes toward Micron-scale output
CXMT is reported to be planning a second Beijing DRAM fab, targeting output approaching Micron's by late 2026. Chinese commodity DDR4/DDR5 supply is the single largest downside risk to the conventional-DRAM price curve.

AI demand reshapes DRAM rankings: Samsung 39%, SK hynix 26%, Micron 25%
Samsung reclaimed the DRAM revenue crown at 39.00%, back to 2024 levels. SK hynix grew revenue 214.00% YoY yet fell from 39% to 26%. Micron sits one point behind at 25.00% - the closest since 2014. CXMT and Nanya were the fastest growers.

FAQ
- What are memory prices today?
- The table above lists the current tracked level for every memory contract we follow — DDR5 and DDR4 dies, server RDIMMs, GDDR6, HBM stacks, enterprise SSDs and retail kits — each with 30-day and year-over-year change and a link to its source.
- Are these realtime memory prices?
- As close as the market allows. There is no exchange for memory chips: DRAM and NAND spot levels come from daily broker surveys, contract prices settle quarterly, and HBM is sold on multi-quarter allocation. Every row records the session date so you always know how fresh a number is.
- Why are memory chip prices rising?
- AI datacenter demand. HBM burns roughly three times the wafer area per shipped bit versus commodity DDR5, so each wafer reallocated to HBM removes several times more mainstream bits from supply. Effective industry bit output is shrinking even as wafer starts grow.
- What is the difference between memory prices and RAM prices?
- RAM usually means the DRAM you buy as modules or kits. Memory prices here cover the whole stack: DRAM dies, modules and kits, graphics memory, HBM for AI accelerators, and NAND flash for SSDs — the upstream levels that set what retail RAM eventually costs.
- Can I download the memory price data?
- Yes. Every table and chart on the site exports to CSV or Excel, including the full 12-month history for each tracked contract.
